Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what happens to your information when you use www.marcusetty.com. The short version: I only collect what you choose to give me, I use it to reply to you, and I don't sell it, share it for marketing or add you to a mailing list.
Who I am
The website is run by Marcus Etty Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17470888. Registered office: c/o Finlayson & Co, Whitby Court, Abbey Road, Shepley, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD8 8EL.
‍
Marcus Etty Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. If you have any questions, email marcus@marcusetty.com.
What I collect and why
When you request a deck. The form asks for your name, your email address, which best describes you and what's coming up for your business. I use this to send you the deck and reply to you personally. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you've asked me for something and I need these details to send it.
‍
When you book a conversation. Booking links go to Google Calendar, which collects your name, email address and anything you choose to add. I use this to hold the meeting. Google handles that booking under its own privacy policy.
‍
When you email me. I keep the email and your details so I can reply and keep track of our conversation.
‍
When you browse the site. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records how the site is used: pages viewed, how long people stay, roughly where visitors are in the world and what device they're on. It doesn't tell me who you are. I use it to see which parts of the site are working. The lawful basis is your consent, and nothing is recorded if you decline.
What I don't do
I don't sell your information. I don't share it with anyone for their marketing. I don't add you to a newsletter or mailing list. I won't contact you about anything other than what you asked for, unless we're already talking.
Who else handles your information
These services handle data for me so the site can work:
  • Webflow, which hosts the website and receives form submissions
  • Google, for Google Calendar bookings, Google Analytics and email
Some of these companies store data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK-US data bridge.
How long I keep it
I keep deck requests and enquiries for up to two years from our last contact, then delete them. If we work together, I keep business records for as long as the law requires, usually six years for accounting. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Cookies
The site uses one essential cookie to remember your cookie choice. Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and ga followed by an ID) are only set if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
  • give you a copy of the information I hold about you
  • correct anything that's wrong
  • delete your information
  • stop or limit how I use it
  • move it to someone else
You can also withdraw consent for analytics at any time. Email marcus@marcusetty.com and I'll respond within one month.
‍
If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
